Technology-enhanced learning (TEL) used to be seen as an optional add-on for teaching and learning but we are now at the stage where TEL is an essential teaching aid that students expect to see embedded in their learning materials.
Teachers, tutors and lecturers can be faced with a bewildering array of applications, tools and approaches, all promising to help students learn. But how do you make informed decisions on the TEL that is appropriate for your students?
This unit aims to address this gap by enabling you to gain a critical understanding of how and why TEL can be selected and implemented to enhance education practice. Applicable to teaching and learning in schools, further and higher education, the unit does not focus on any discipline or subject but aims to allow you to contextualise the unit material to your own environment and requirements. The unit investigates TEL tools in the context of learning pedagogies and focuses attention on the intended outcomes of deploying TEL tools on those involved in their use.

Entry requirements:
A Bachelors Honours degree with 2:1 in any subject or equivalent. Applicants should be teaching in a practice or academic setting. If English is not your first language you'll need IELTS (Academic) 7.0 with a minimum of 6.5 in writing and 6.0 in the other three components of speaking, listening and reading or equivalent.
