BU’s Disaster Management Centre (BUDMC) has garnered decades of experience in education, research and professional practice.
It lists governments, international aid agencies and multinational businesses among its clientele, and prides itself on the practical, applicable nature of the research and training that it delivers.
The BUDMC enjoys an international reputation, selected alongside BU’s International Centre for Tourism & Hospitality Research by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNTWO) to undertake vital research into global disaster management.
In addition to the services it supplies in areas such as the aviation, logistics, travel and tourism industries, the centre’s work includes providing expert training on how to deal with natural disasters. In 2017, this saw its experts working with the Caribbean Islands during Hurricane Irma.
